Robotics and Technology Club

Our Coding Cohort led by Ms. Monica is taking a deep dive into the following coding languages in our upcoming March meeting:  Python, Java, Javascript, Swift, C++, Objective C, and HTML. In our last meeting, students selected these languages, self-organized into small groups, and created a collaborative document to share links to tutorials, findings, and terminology/definition lists.

Our Robotics Cohort led by Mr. Doug  is actually building a 3D printer using a borrowed 3D printer. Students organized in this club will learn the basics behind robotics while getting hands-on experience with 3D printing. Stay tuned for more updates!

Please contact Ms. Monica or Mr. Doug if you have any questions.

Soccer Club

The Soccer club competed in their first game this past Saturday and shut out the opposing team with a 1-0 victory.  Emiliano scored the goal with an assist from Lorcan. Congratulations on a successful first game!

Ultimate Frisbee Team

The Ultimate Frisbee team played its first game this past Thursday. The second game of the season is this Thursday at Hopewell HS at 6pm. Come out and support the team!

We are still looking for players and can work together on carpooling if that is an issue. Young woman, young men, middle or high school are all welcome to join! Practices are Tuesdays and Wednesdays—if you can’t make it to both, you can come to just one; games are on Thursdays.

Contact Coach Tom Parks or parent Karen Aman for more information about the team, schedule, or carpooling for games and practices.

Mountain Bike Club

The Mountain Bike Club raced in the first NICA race of the season at Brown’s Creek, Elizabethtown, NC.  Congratulations to all four riders for riding strong races and a special shout out to Solomon Davis for successfully completing his first mountain bike race.  Come cheer on the MTB team at their next race at Fisher Farms in Davidson, NC on Sunday April 8, 9:00-11:00. Contact Mark Dombroski for race schedule or check out the NICA website for more information about this season.
